Gold Beach Museum
The GOLD BEACH museum covers the British landings on the GOLD KING sector in June 1944. It covers from the preparation for the operation and assault on the beaches to the capture of the main objective of the 69th Infantry Brigade, the National Road 13, with the support of tanks of the 4th /7th Royal Dragoon Guards and the self-propelled guns of the 86th Field Regiment Royal Artillery.
The museum pays tribute to the British troops of the 50th Infantry Division who landed on our coasts, but also to the essential beach logistics implemented by the 9 th Beach Group, to the Royal Air Force through the construction of the "B3" airfield between Ver-sur-Mer and Sainte-Croix and finally to the Royal Navy without which this operation could not have taken place.
You will discover this history in the form of educational panels, photos, dioramas, objects and artifacts donated by the veterans and also through 30 minutes of films displayed on terminals retracing the different aspects of the operation.
